In business, everyone's looking for an edge. An honours degree signals your outstanding academic abilities and superior analytical skills in your chosen area of business.
The Bachelor of Business Management (Honours) is a one-year program that will teach you how to undertake research relevant to business. Entry is competitive and is based on your undergraduate GPA. Choose an honours field that best aligns with your undergraduate studies. Fields are available in Management, or Real Estate and Development. You'll also need to complete a range of elective courses from your field. Complete a compulsory course on research methods that will develop the skills you need to successfully design and conduct research projects. You'll use this knowledge to write a thesis, which is a major part of the honours program. Push the boundaries and develop high-level skills in critical and analytical thinking, research, communication, problem-solving and project management. Your honours year will open doors to careers in research or consulting.
Whether you undertake an honours year to build on your undergraduate education, or to begin a career in research, our graduates have a distinct advantage when applying for professional roles.
Graduates can use their qualifications to distinguish themselves in a competitive jobs market, or as a stepping stone to careers in research, whether in industry or academia.
Students who earn Class I or Class IIA Honours also qualify for most PhD programs across Australia, and some internationally, including programs in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Honours graduates have found employment at high-levels, both in Australia and internationally, including roles at multinational companies, start-ups, governments, aid organisations and research institutions.
Graduates enjoy a particularly high rate of employment in management and marketing consulting, and market research.
