This degree will give you the freedom of choice to start up your career or be a stepping stone to further study.

You will study planning, design, testing, and the operation of open-cut and underground mines, but also get the opportunity to put your knowledge and skills into practice in class and at mining sites.

Topics include fundamental mathematics, applied mechanics, material science, engineering design, geology, geomechanics, construction, surveying, mining technology and mine planning.

Why Mining?

Mining is one of Australia’s largest and most exciting industries and gives you the option to work in some of Australia’s most exotic locations.

With your skills gained at USQ explore careers in planning mining developments, designing pit and waste areas, scheduling excavation and haulage processes, controlling and monitoring mining operations and production.
