Summary
The Business Law degree gives students an understanding of both the commercial and legal world. It is a business degree with a large component of law. Students are able to gain an understanding of common law frameworks and international comparative law. It is relevant for students who see themselves working in a global context and provides students with the opportunity to investigate international comparative law.
The Faculty of Law delivers a rigorous curriculum that focuses on the academic development of students. Students are provided with the opportunity to gain practical skills such as negotiating, problem solving and oral communication in simulated professional environments.
About the program
The Bachelor of Business Law program provides an opportunity to combine legal subjects of particular interest with study in related business disciplines. The degree structure permits various combinations of law and non-law subjects (including the option of completing a business major), which enables you to design a program to meet your particular career interests.
Professional outcomes
Law is increasingly regarded as an excellent preparation for a wide range of careers and, with arts and sciences, is an important source of liberal education. Careers in politics, business, banking and finance, teaching, public service, industrial relations and international relations are among the many open to law graduates. Unlike the Bachelor of Laws degree, Bachelor of Business Law is not designed to provide a qualification for the professional practise of law.
