The Diploma of Legal Studies will be of interest to students planning a career where a knowledge of fundamental legal principles and basic legal skills will be of use, e.g. business administration, legal administration, federal, state or local government administration. It will also be of interest to students who have a general interest in the law as an area of study. The Diploma of Legal Studies will teach students core skills to enhance their career prospects, whether that be a student fresh out of school or someone wishing to upgrade their qualifications. Some core skills covered include; familiarity with the fundamental features of Australia’s legal system, the principles of business law and contract law, contemporary legal and ethical issues confronting Australian society, communicating in groups, conflict resolution, problem solving, individual and group decision making, and an understanding of ethics, morals and cultural beliefs. Successful completion of the Diploma of Legal Studies guarantees students a place in most undergraduate degrees at Bond University, with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their new program of study. Students are advised to check the degree study structures online to confirm for which subjects they may receive credit.
Successful completion of the Diploma of Legal Studies will provide students with a pathway to most Bond University undergraduate degrees, including the Bachelor of Laws, or a start to their career where a knowledge of fundamental legal principles and basic legal skills will be of use, e.g. business administration, legal administration, federal, state or local government administration.
On Campus and Remote
Due to current travel restrictions, this program will temporarily be delivered using a mixture of on-campus, remote and multi-modal classes to support and engage all students, from all parts of the world.
The September semester for this program will be delivered in a multi-modal format, with classes designed to support and engage all learners. Whether they’re on campus or abroad, all students will be able to access Bond’s exceptional and personalised learning experience through dynamic and interactive lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops and lab sessions.

Applicants must have a successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Australia.
