In a rapidly changing world, a Bachelor of Arts from ACU prepares you for the challenges of the future. An honours program is available to students who have excelled during their previous three years of study. You will build your knowledge in your chosen major area of study through a research or creative project.

Industry partnerships

Our degrees in arts, humanities and social sciences will give you the tools to confidently step into the job market. You can volunteer at a not- for-profit organisation to build on-the-job skills, or be a part of the Big Idea – a social enterprise competition to provide innovative ideas to help homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged Australians. Some of our students have volunteered or taken placements at:

  • Victorian Department of Parliamentary Services
  • The Big Issue
  • City councils

Students with a Student Visa will need to complete the program in minimum duration, study at least one subject on-campus each semester and must not undertake more than 33% of the program online.

Entry criteria

Applicants require the equivalent of Australian Year 12 certificate.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Overall score: 6.0; Individual score of: 6.0 in writing and speaking; 5.5 in listening and reading

Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50 with a minimum of 50 in writing and speaking and a minimum of 42 in reading and listening

Test of English as a Foreign Language - Academic (TOEFL): Internet based total of 60: minimum 21 in writing, 18 in speaking, 8 in reading and 7 in listening

ACU English Language Test: C (60-64%)

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): Overall CAE score: 169; Minimum score of 169 in writing and speaking and 162 in listening and reading.
