Summary

This qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair, and maintain systems and equipment’s in building s and premises.

Please note this qualification will not fulfil the requirements for an Electrical licence without an apprenticeship as of January 2021 Australia wide

An apprenticeship requires full-time work and study for 4 years. Currently only students with Permanent residency can do a 4-year electrical apprenticeship.

STRUCTURE

You must attend class 20 hours every week. You will also need to complete self-paced learning from home. Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician includes 480 hours of vocational training (unpaid).

OUTCOME

Students who graduate from this course will receive a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

Please note this qualification will not provide a licensed trade qualification but will fulfil academic requirements.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Assessment of competencies will be done by the trainer throughout the course. You will have to complete written and practical assessments and workplace demonstration and observation.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

All individual students are offered the opportunity to apply for RPL. If requested, the trainer at Ausinet will provide candidates with an RPL Application Form, to assist the candidate in determining if RPL is an appropriate pathway to gain the qualification. If appropriate, candidates will be provided with an RPL Self-Assessment Guide and instructions on how to prepare a portfolio of evidence. The RPL documentation is available on request.

Entry criteria

To enroll into this course, you will need to have completed Australian Year 11 or equivalent and have an overall IELTS score of 5.5. You must be over 18 years old. Due to the physical requirements of this qualification the student must have the ability to perform CPR on a manikin.

There will also be an entrance test to assess your mathematical and analytical skills.
