The Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis covers the skills and knowledge required to perform advanced diagnostic operations in the automotive retail, service and repair environment. You will be using most skills learned in Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology in this course. You will learn how to diagnose complex faults in light vehicle petrol engines, electronic spark ignition engine management systems and braking systems as well as learning how to depower battery electric vehicles and test engines using a dynamometer.

Students undertaking the Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis must have completed an automotive mechanical Certificate III qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.
Australian equivalent qualification
The entry requirement for IV course requires a Year 12 qualification or equivalent. A verified copy of qualifications and transcripts is required to accompany your application.
English language requirement
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Overall 5.5 or above; or Pearson Academic: Overall score 43 or above; or If student does not hold any of the above test results, then the student is required to pass an English test executed by Enhance College for your enrolment can be proceeded.

An applicant must be above 18 years of age to be able to enrol in this course.
