The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) can be delivered through blended learning experience of either face-to-face and/ self-paced classroom learning, through a Traineeship or Work-based, which provides students with a range of skill and knowledge to provide person-centred support to those in need due to ageing such as:
By spending time in caring for any person you will likely get to know them well and able to gain in-depth knowledge about their views, essential living needs and social, cultural and religious views. You will also be able to learn much more about their lives and key issues such as how they live and their financial ability to care for themselves adequately.
One of the key or foundations requirements is to have completed a relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Individual Support with a focus on Aged Care. Having additional industry work experience can be an added benefit. Students may undertake this course as an entry pathway into the aged care or disability care industry. The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is directed towards developing multi-skilled workers for the broad range of services supporting aged people and the disabled in residential and community settings.
With person-centred care, each person is treated as a complete human being with their own life story, values, culture, interests and beliefs. Support from others is tailored to meet the person’s individual situation, unique needs and goals.
The certificate in Individual Support is delivered over 30 weeks face to face which includes 13 units of study and 120 hours work placement component. Work placements will be pre- arranged with approved care facility partners and arrangements will supported by the college. Students may decide to choose or focus on a specialisation including Ageing, Home care services, Community services and Disability Care.
The face to face training component has been designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to become a carer in the community and/or residential setting and to follow an individualised plan which is tailored to provide person-centred support to persons needing this support.
Career Pathways and Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students may further their studies with either CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support or CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services.

Entry requirements are in place to make sure that students who gain entry to these courses have the skills and abilities they require in order to successfully complete their studies.
Students need be 18 year and older and have completed year 12.
Student visa applicants under the age of 18 and who have completed year 12 will be accepted where they demonstrate that they will be accompanied by a parent, legal custodian or a suitable relative who is aged 21 or over, and they will turn 18 before their course commences. International students whose first language is not English will be tested prior to the commencement of Vocational Education and Training Courses.
Educare requires an IELTS 5.5 with no band less than 5, or equivalent (as determined by Educare College Australia) or satisfactory completion of 12 weeks of General English with one of our English education partners.
