This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are engaged to manage the work of others or to add value to or review management practices. This qualification provides skills and knowledge require perform effectively as manager, team leader or supervisor managing workplace. It will develop a skill base knowledge and awareness of management practices. Graduates of the Diploma of Leadership & Management will develop an understanding of the dynamics and Principles underlying effective functioning of work groups, as well as the necessary skills to competency function within small/and or large organisations.

This is a competency based course and assessment is undertaken. The assessments may be one-on-one environment, tailored to your job role, or through the completion of set tasks/projects for submission. it is also based on completions of assignments, practical tests and /or examinations for each subject. We work with you to assist you to demonstrate your competency.


Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • BSB50215 Diploma of Business or other relevant qualification OR
  • With substantial vocational experience in a range of environments, acting in a range of senior support or technical roles.

After Achieving the BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership & Management, candidates may undertake the BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership & Management, a qualification involving the application of high level project and managerial skills or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications and higher qualifications.

Entry criteria

Completion of Year 10 or high school or equivalent in applicant’s home country

International students must be 18 years or above before commencing studies.

There are no course specific entry requirements for this qualification.

International students must have a good command of written and spoken English.

International students who do not have English as first language will need to show that they are capable of completing the course successfully by meeting at least one of the following requirements:

An IELTS score (academic module) of 5.5 with no individual band score less than 5.0, or

Certificate IV or higher of AQF qualification or

PTE, with the minimum of overall 43 score (at least 36 score in each module)

Students with 5.0 band will be considered if they have completed ELICOS program for minimum of 10 weeks.

American College In House English Placement Test for onshore applicants from level 1 & 2 countries only, to be conducted under supervision of American college staff.
