Level of study: Primary and High School
Our Primary School provides a friendly and nurturing space that guides children through this vital phase of their education. It is divided into two age groups, the Infants (Prep – Year 2), and the Juniors (Year 3 – Year 6). Our focus is to engage them in a wide range of relevant and challenging learning opportunities aimed at helping them discover their own interests and passions.
All students enjoy a well-rounded curriculum with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy as well as specialist and enrichment programs, balanced with pastoral care and student support. We believe this provides a solid base for personal achievement and the development of the leadership skills that are so important later in life.
Infants (prep - year2)
Students in the Infants age group are naturally curious and are keen to explore, discover and learn about their world. Our early learning specialist teachers are committed to satisfying this curiosity by nurturing and supporting children’s learning and development to ensure that our students become learners for life.
Our Infants education program provides the building blocks for future learning, in particular by developing essential literacy and numeracy skills. Learning is done as a whole class, in small groups or individually ensuring children have every opportunity to learn through a variety of engaging activities, including excursions and hands-on experiences throughout the year. Students will be well-equipped to handle the next stage of their education in Junior School.
Junior (Year 3-Year 6)
All students study a range of subjects covering the Key Learning Areas. Students in the Junior age group take on more responsibility for their learning and are starting to do many learning tasks on their own with little or no supervision. Though students are developing more independence in their learning, they still need encouragement and guidance educationally, socially and emotionally as they approach adolescence and search for self-identity.
Our Junior program is designed to provide encouragement, stimulate young minds and build on the students’ existing knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for learning. Students are challenged and inspired to explore, learn and grow intellectually, socially, emotionally and spiritually so they will be equipped to make wise decisions as informed members of society.
Our Values Program is introduced in the Primary School developing positive character and social traits as the children grow. This program is produced by our Chaplaincy and supported by teachers in the classroom through various learning experiences.
