Are you interested in learning English to prepare for further study in Australia? Our English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course is targeted at international students and speakers of English as a second language and can help you develop the skills and knowledge you need. The course can help you get ready to study in Australian high schools, Technical & Further Education (TAFE), foundation studies courses and university at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Academic English is often very different to the everyday English you use in conversation. It can be much harder to understand new words and the writing style used in academic settings, so preparing yourself for study in English is essential. You will develop skills in: Listening – notetaking, listening for specific information; Speaking – expressing ideas and opinions, pronunciation, seeking clarification; Writing – interpreting questions, grammatical accuracy and organising content; Reading – speed reading strategies, understanding graphs and charts, analysing IELTS specimen papers Succeeding in the IELTS test is also about understanding the test structure, something we can also help with. Students typically enrol in this course to improve their English to move to a Diploma or Advanced Diploma course in VET or Higher Education Qualification upon completion.
