WORK-BASED TRAINING (WBT)
In addition to study time, students are required to complete 480 hours of volunteer work within their local church, where they can gain skills and experience in serving others. Experience can be gained serving in a ministry team such as hospitality, music, children or administration. This volunteer work is called “Work-Based Training”. Students must remain with the same local church for at least a year before they are permitted to change Work Based Training Provider if they wish to. A Work-Based Training Plan and Agreement will be distributed on Orientation Day.
Assessment tasks include: questions, case scenarios, research, portfolios and workplace competency. Upon successful completion of the course requirements you will be awarded a 10743NAT Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology. Participants who exit the course without completing all requirements will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for those units in which they have demonstrated competency.
ONGOING EDUCATION OPTIONS
Completion of this course is a prerequisite for entry into the 10744NAT Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology, and will provide partial Direct Credit Transfer into a CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services and a range of other nationally recognised qualifications.
2 years Full-time 24 subjects face to face on campus as well as online tutorial discussions per week during the term, plus 480 hours of Work-based Training over the duration of the course. This is broken down into 60 hours Work-Based Training each term. The year consists of 4 terms and each term consists of 3 subjects and weekly online tutorials.
