Our aircraft engineering pre-vocational courses provide essential training required to begin a career in aircraft maintenance. We deliver the essential pre-apprenticeship, underpinning vocational theory training towards the Certificate IV in Aeroskills (in Mechanical, Structures or Avionics).
Our state-of-the-art Technical Training Centre features a world class maintenance hangar and a comprehensive range of aircraft.
If your interests centre on computers, electronics and electrical control systems, then this is a natural choice for you, as aircraft avionics systems are amongst the most technologically sophisticated and advanced in the world.
Every new aircraft type that comes into service brings with it cutting-edge technology such as fly-by-wire, fly-by-light and even artificial intelligence, so this is a field of expertise where the tempo of change and discovery is dynamic.
Avionics is a continually evolving specialisation. Every new aircraft type involves new cutting edge technology. If you choose the avionics stream, you will learn the skills required to maintain and service various aircraft electrical, radio, instrument and navigation systems.

Minimum 16 years of age
Minimum Australian Year 10 (or equivalent) completion of high school, with a pass in English, Mathematics and Physics. Successful completion of Aviation Australia’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy aptitude testing.
